Lisa,
In answer to your question, I will not know until I engage the manufacturer in a conversation. At that point, I make the determination if (1) raising hell; (2) threats of severe consequences; or (3) quiet reasoning might be effective. Once you commit, then be prepared to take it to the limits.
That is What I Do. (Trade Secret of course)
In a large sense, you and I provide a very similar product. An old salesman once told me to find out what the customer wants and give it to them. The trick is to convince them what they really want.
I can’t wait to spend some time tickling your ear!

Lisa,
In reality its a two day glass job. The manufacturer wants to have the hull repaired in Waycross Georgia in lieu of paying the local glass man. Go figure.
I am going to see if we can reason together in the morning or if the manufacturer would rather simmer in the heat of adverse publicity.
You once asked, what I did. Now you begin to see. Just think, people pay me for this!

Lisa,
To be honest I am not worried too much about the boat except I am trying to fashion a solution that keeps the Captain from going out of business while the boat manufacturer takes months to get the hull repaired.
I have been known to improvise when the situation presents itself.

Lisa,
There is no shortage of hats on S Padre. I have plenty of options for a convertible ride and we can easily pick-up a beach hat on the island.
Working on resolving the boat issue tonight. Will know status in the am.
Aloe sounds great!
