Lisa,
Wish you had been in on the conversation. It was spontaneous and thats what made it so interesting. Dutch pragmatism vs. Aussie pride.
Getting you in on the conversation just might happen. I have some ideas on the topic.
The terrain in the woods was not the greatest but barefoot treks are becoming something I look forward to.
Details on the island.

Lisa,
You really started something.
Ha! Indeed! Talk about a fun time, first the Aussies start talking about the liberal attitudes in Amsterdam with emphasis on the sex business and how its no big deal. Then the Dutch expand on just how much better to be in Amsterdam since sex workers are just considered ordinary mainstream folks. Then the Brits/Americans give their ideas with heavy doses of Calvinism. Add copious amounts of champagne and chardonnay and then the party really begins!!! I was laughing so hard at the clash of civilizations that I had to go outside and take my new Dutch friend on a barefoot run with my dog in my forest. Sometime around the time I sent the email last night, everyone seemed to have drifted away. Since the Aussies and Dutch now love me, its going to be a fun summer around the old neighborhood. So, Ha! Indeed!

They really are. Even if they stay with you for several days and invite their Dutch friends from Amsterdam.
