Subject: How I spent my vacation
Lisa,
Just a few reflections on the past week.
Did you ever have to make up your mind?
Pick up on one and leave the other behind.
It’s not often easy and not often kind.
Did you ever have to make up your mind?
— The Loving Spoonful
* The decision to be a vegan requires more than dietary modification. It means to avoid any conduct detrimental to animals of every species. You must examine every choice you make in that context. I now seek to follow that path in my consciousness.
* There is a real reason to be barefoot. The simple fact is my feet feel so much better when I respect their need for joy. I learned that from a special person, not simply reading a book.
* If you are truly serious about the pursuit of freedom and liberty you must be willing to pursue those things without regard to potential danger to your reputation or to your very life. Joan of Arc knew this. So must I.

Percy Isgitt as Joan of Arc: girlish, hears voices, pointless campaign, then burned alive
* Over forty years ago, I took an oath to defend the Constitution of the United States. I do not wish to be remembered as another attorney who thought that part of the oath was simply window dressing.
* For the first time in my life in a very long while, I found joy in simply being myself.
* A new friend became an integral part of my life and taught me the beauty of simplicity.
* There is something magical about being able to share your thoughts and ideas openly without having to filter them through the prism of caution, conventional mores, and fear of being insensitive.
* You gain a lot when you think something is lost and you find that it was always there.
For these things, I thank you.
Percy
